Bubble Wrap and Void Fill

When sending customer orders, protecting the item inside the box or mail bag isn’t just necessary to keep the customer happy. Ensuring the products arrive with the customer in one piece means that the business saves money on having to send the product again – which can be costly, if the item is expensive – and additional shipping.

There are several solutions that can keep customer orders from being damaged in transit. Bubble wrap is a tried-and-tested solution that has been used by the retail industry for decades, because it does exactly what it needs to, and can be used to completely wrap and protect any shape of product. Today, our bubble wrap is made from recycled materials, and can be recycled too – much greener than earlier versions.

For particularly delicate, or sharp items, we have produced pillar air pouches and air pillow sheets, which provide outstanding protection for items that could be damaged easily with rough handling, or that are accidentally dropped.

For more sustainable options, our news offcut filler paper is a low-cost solution, and retailers can easily use it to wrap products of all shapes and sizes, or to fill voids within boxes where necessary. Tissue paper can be used in a similar way, and printed tissue paper can be a great way to inject a little fun, and branding to in-box packaging.

Our favourite innovative product is honeycomb paper roll – made from brown Kraft paper, it is an excellent, low cost and more eco-friendly alternative to bubble wrap, with a lot of stretch that protects whatever it is wrapping effectively. Used with news offcut filler, or tissue paper, it is also an attractive option that customers are likely to be impressed by too. Of course, all our paper solutions are made from recycled, and recyclable materials, and they are biodegradable and compostable – allowing for easy disposal when the customer receives their order.

What is a standard mailing bag?

Our standard polythene bags are our best value mailing sacks, available in a large selection of sizes to suit a variety of products and purposes. The 55 micron thick grey material grants a reasonable degree of strength while remaining very lightweight to minimise postal costs. Your postage and packing outgoings can be accurately calculated thanks to the sizing table which corresponds with Royal Mail’s PiP guidelines. Intuitive practicality is embedded into the design with the 40mm lip that includes a peel-&-seal strip. This feature eliminates the need for tape, simplifying the whole packing process for increased efficiency and ease. These qualities are indispensable within a busy dispatch operation, promoting the fast functioning of an ecommerce business. Moreover, tape dispensers or cutting tools can be removed from a pack station, aiding organisation. To display delivery information, these standard mailing bags are commonly purchased with items from our comprehensive range of multi-purpose labels. Are the polythene bags eco-friendly? The grey polythene is made from recycled materials, making it a low-cost and environmentally friendly option. The extremely light weight further promotes the protection of our planet as it means that more parcels can be loaded onto a single vehicle, hence economising that space and reducing the overall carbon footprint of the process. It is worth noting that, as a result of the recycled content, the shade of grey may vary slightly from the images. Can you reuse a mailing bag? These plastic mailing bags are made with a minimum amount of recycled material to suit their single-use purpose and hence, are not designed for reuse. However, there is nothing stopping a customer from reusing a grey mailing bag if it retains its high quality condition. What are grey mailing bags used for? Thanks to the wide range of sizes supplied by Kite, the standard postal pouches can carry a broad selection of products, making them suitable for various industries. The large letter sizes are perfect for sending out clothing, literature or textiles while the larger parcels are typically used for bulky or boxed items. The opaque exterior renders the envelopes suitable for sending out confidential materials too. A polythene mailing sack is a great universal product with a variety of uses, making it an ideal versatile resource for companies sending out a range of different items. The flat-pack and ultra-thin arrival aids this end by conserving warehouse space. recycling code 4 Click here for our recycling guide
